Yash and I are about to embark on the next stage of our ongoing house designing : rejigging the layout to turn our ensuite into a spacious bathroom for two. It's something that we've been wanting ever since we moved in together. Having a bathroom that is planned according to our functional needs and our daily schedule would make a big difference to the way we live.
So, the plan is to divide the master bathroom by its three main functions : Vanity, Shower and Toilet. We are creating three distinctive divisions between the areas with glass partition and doors. Not only will this create a much more practical and stylish bathroom that two people can use without invading each other's space, it will also keep the bathroom cleaner now that we have division between the wet and dry areas.
Now that we have defined the areas, we were clear about which functions will require hot and cold water, at what heights etc. so we were able to derive the plumbing lines from our heat water pump. The walls of our apartment were only 4 inches so we introduced ledge walls for our concealed water tank for WC and we extended the ledge wall in the shower to create niches for a seamless and more manageable shelving for the bath products.
On site, we ensured to note down where the plumbing lines are running for future checks or changes that might need us to remove the tiling. Also, made sure our drains are aligned in the corner which does not disrupt the slopes in the flooring that ensures no water clogging happens while usage.
Stay tuned for more updates!
Warm regards,
Esha
